Windows

Desktop app for Windows 10 and 11. Full voice, notifications, and a client that stays out of your way.

Desktop app for Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Everything the Windows build does, at home on a Mac.

First launch: right-click the app → Open → click Open in the dialog.

Linux

Packages for popular distros, with the same feature set as Windows and macOS. Linux isn't an afterthought here.

On Ubuntu, Mint, Debian, or Pop!_OS, install the .deb. The AppImage covers most other distros. If you use the AppImage, make it executable before opening it (right-click it, Properties, Permissions, or chmod +x).

No install at all. Open Rift in your browser, handy for a quick check-in or a locked-down work machine.

Android & iOS

The Android and iOS apps are built and in private beta. We are finishing testing and polish before submitting to Google Play and the App Store. Until they are live, the web app on your phone is the best way to use Rift on the go.

Android

The Android app is feature-complete for launch: notifications, background sync, voice, and the same Rift you use on desktop and web.

How to install it
  1. Tap the download, then open the file when it finishes.
  2. Android will ask permission to install from this source. Allow it (you can turn it back off afterwards).
  3. Play Protect may warn you because the app is not from the Play Store yet. Choose "Install anyway".

This is the real beta, pointed at the live Rift servers. When the Play Store listing goes up you may need to reinstall once to switch over.

iOS

The iPhone and iPad apps match Android for core chat, voice, and notifications. Store listing and TestFlight details will appear here once submission is underway.

Desktop installers are listed here as soon as each platform build is published. Mobile store links will appear after beta and review. Until then, the web app always has the latest.
